About the Live Music Trust

  • To initiate, promote, plan and advocate for the development of Hamilton’s contemporary music community.
  • To arrange, locate and secure resources to support live contemporary music performance.
  • To approve and budget for the overall finances of the Trust.
  • To hold community forums to consult with the contemporary music community.

 

Trustees

We are proud to have the following Trustees:

Scott Ratuki (HCAC Rep)

Scott is an Associate at Tompkins Wake who specialises in Intellectual property law. Scott co-ordinates ‘Legalised Art’ – a programme provided in conjunction with HCAC offering free preliminary legal advice to the creative arts. Scott is also an experienced musician and has been passionate about seeing this Trust’s establishment.

Nick Johnston

Project Co-ordinator for Band Experiments.

Nick plays in several well known Hamilton bands and is currently working as Communications Coordinator at Arts Waikato. He previously worked as the music editor for Nexus student magazine. Before involving himself in the event co-ordination, he managed several different CD stores including his own online music store. He was the one of the co-organisers of The 2009 & 2010 Band Experiments, currently working as the Project Co-ordinator for the 2011 Band Experiments.

Lauren Kbell

Sponsorship Co-ordinator for Band Experiments

Lauren has been involved in promotion, sponsorship co-ordination and event organisation for some of Hamilton’s most celebrated music events. She is currently working as Sponsorship Co-ordinator for the 2010 Band Experiments.

Dan Reese

Dan is a well known Hamilton musician, whose band The Lookie Loos received significant airplay and NZ on Air funding. He also organises open mic nights and gigs to help promote upcoming talent from Hamilton.
